   I like the HP laptop but found a few items that need upgrade. Keyboard graphics are not bright enough. The keyboard needs to be lit as it's only usable in the brightest light. Both sound and brightness are at maximum level and not adequate. I have been working thru the HP troubleshooting for both of these but no luck in fixing either. I will contact HP to see if they can help. On a positive note, the transfer of info from my old laptop to new was easy and I was up and running quickly. I would recommend buying it but I hope HP would upgrade the noted issues.

   This laptop seems to work well, but the keyboard has absolutely no backlight capability. The keys have thin white letters on a gray background, and when the laptop is sitting on my lap, the keys are very difficult to see unless the room is well lit. That means I can't do any work unless all the lights are turned on full bright. I am just amazed that a well-known manufacturer such as HP could even consider skimping on this simple feature. This would be the same thing if someone sold cars with no instrument lights on the dashboard. I did not even discover that keyboard lighting was missing altogether until I tried to figure out how to turn on the backlights and had to search for hours on how to do it, only to discover that it couldn't be done at all. I'm also disappointed that the videos describing this computer on the Amazon website did not mention that the computers evaluated in the video clips were not the same as what I was buying. The website implied the clips applied to the model I had selected. I consider this a bait and switch ploy by Amazon. Also, there is no mention of keyboard backlighting in any of the HP laptop product descriptions, so I don't know how anyone would know what features are included and what ones are not for any particular product. Now I'm stuck with this item for the next few years. I hope my eyes last that long.

    Great price for being a 17” laptop but I feel like the screen may detach or become loosened from the base that’s attached to the keyboard over time. I’m also not able to select my preferred browser option in the settings so if you prefer BING as your default browser then this HP laptop is for you.

   If you're like me, you're probably going back and forth among all the endless options of affordable laptops on Amazon. If it's within your budget, I would recommend this laptop or just one from HP. It's very, very quick, quicker than my main desktop. The only thing I experience, similar to some of the other reviews I saw prior to buying, is that it does "feel like" it dies fast. I put feels like in quotes cuz I'm not sure if it's me just not realizing time is flying by or if it's an actual deficit of the product. Nonetheless, the performance and speed and plus of the screen size more than makes up for it.
   
   For my all day work days, it'll last from 11am-4pm/5pm before I have to plug it in and charge it. Oh and I mainly just use it for work so mainly utilizing Microsoft office stuff and the internet.
   
   In the review it's asks me to rate its touch screen?? ...there's no touch screen, at least with the model I purchased.

   I just saw the message you sent me saying What you say it was like the picture and how many satisfied customers you had. The picture appears to be silver with a silver keyboard. My keyboard is light brown. That was one of the reasons I chose that particular laptop. I already knew the HP reputation. My previous laptop is an HP and it has served me well for eight years. Can you do a swap with me? I don’t want to leave a poor rating
