With bluetooth, I get about 5 hours playing music or youtube as i work. (These are rough estimates bc I don't time them.)
I recommend to buy these on sale. They're not great for calls, so if you're wanting a good mic, these are not it. I tried using them on discord and in game proximity chats. They don't pick up my voice very well.
The fit hurts my ears after a while of usage too and I use the smallest ear tip size.
The sound quality is good though. I'm not an audiophile or anything, but it's nice. And it comes with an EQ app on your phone and desktop.
As far as I'm concerned for $75 they're basically perfect for my use case, really solid range when the dongle is out in the open (get an extension cable if you're using it with a pc and it'll cover a lot of ground) and they sound fine for the price. The latency isn't GREAT but it's usable enough, you're only going to notice a delay if you're really looking for or testing for it. Battery life is also mediocre, without ANC or ambient mode on I only got around 5 hours of use on 2.4ghz. The only problem I really have with them is the buttons cannot be customized when using 2.4ghz, you're stuck cycling between ANC, ambient aware and off. This is needlessly irritating and I wish I could simply disable the controls entirely but it's such a minor issue I won't dock it much.
All in all pretty decent value. They're comfortable enough to wear for the battery duration, the ANC and ambient modes aren't great but I didn't expect much at this price point.
The only redeeming quality to these earbuds is the sound. The bass and overall clarity is impressive. But with other 2.4 Ghz earbuds offering better battery life and software functionality for half the price. It isn't enough to make these a worthwhile purchase.
The 2 main cons for me are:
-Battery life
-Comfort
One of the key advantages of these earbuds over traditional over-the-head headphones is the cooler and more comfortable experience they provide, especially during extended gaming sessions. I could game for hours without the usual discomfort that comes with over-ear headphones. This comfort doesn’t compromise the effectiveness of in-game communication. According to feedback from my gaming buddies, the voice chat clarity has noticeably improved compared to my previous headset. Conversations are crystal clear, making coordination during intense gaming moments seamless and effective.
On the downside, I did face some connectivity issues on my Windows system with the 2.4GHz connection. Occasionally, despite the system recognizing the earbuds as the selected audio output, there would be no sound. A quick fix was to return the earbuds to the charging case and pick them up again for automatic re-connection, although it’s a bit of a hassle mid-game.
Despite this minor hiccup, the JBL Quantum TWS earbuds have proved to be an invaluable addition to my gaming setup. The combination of superior audio quality, precise sound localization, and the comfort of wear makes these earbuds a worthy investment for any avid gamer.
I can't give it a 5-star rating, however. Even with the largest earpad, the buds are loose in both ears, and particularly in my right ear, which made the sound adjustment a much longer process than it had to be. Worse was that the right bud has just fallen out without warning, and I fear I might lose that right earbud one day.
